Kenya Vs Plastic

Kenya has been fighting a war between plastic bags for years. But it seems that no matter how much plastic they try to limit, it doesn't seem to work. This time Kenya is going to ban plastic bags entirely, and they hope that this time is will be successful in helping out the environment. Kenya wants to join other countries such as   Rwanda, Mauritania, Eritrea, Cameroon, Guinea- Bissau, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Malawi. Their efforts in trying to ban plastic has been pretty successful especially in Rwanda. Although banning plastic would be a great outcome for the country, it wouldn't be such a great outcome for those who sell plastic bags for a living.  As of August 28 up to 1.2 million people will be left with no job. A man by the name of Jonathon Mwagangi  has been selling plastic bags for the past 15 years. And if he or others are found to be selling plastic bags they will be punished. They can face up to four years in jail or a fine of 38,000 or even both. They were given six months to get rid of their supplies, many business were wiped out including Jonathan's. I do believe that this would benefit the country a whole lot, but at the same time it is saddening to hear that many would be left without jobs.

Orphanage for Children

In Cape Town, South Africa a Generous a women  by the name of Rosie Mashale noticed that a lot of hungry children would pick into garbage cans to eat. She would see this type of thing happen a lot in her neighborhood. Just the sight of seeing these young children suffer it broke her heart. Rosie wanted to help the children out in any way that she could, and she decided to run a free day care for children. Many children came to Rosie and she fed them and gave them something to drink . But time came where Rosie wanted to retire, but  a little boy had stopped her from doing it. One day a little boy who was covered in sores came to her door step his parents where killed by Aids / HIV, nobody wanted to care for the poor boy so she decided to open up an orphanage for children. Rosie and her team have attended to 5,000 children already especially those who need treatments who have been affected by Aids/ HIV, cancer, and many more diseases. 3.7 million Orphans have been left because their parents were infected and killed by AIDS/ HIV, reading this article made very angry to see how many children have been left to care for their own and we the people should help these children we should see Rosie Mashale as a role model and follow her steps so that we can help these children and adults one step at a time.
